The European Net Zero Alliance (ENZA) is pleased to invite you to an online event ‘Integrated solutions to deliver a net-zero energy system‘ on 28 September 2022 from 14:00 to 15:00 CET.

The event will showcase the benefits of a multi-energy and multiple technology approach to achieving an integrated and climate neutral energy system for the EU economy and citizens.

3 successful projects will highlight a variety of technologies, solutions associated and coordinated in such a way that they deliver the objectives of the Integrated Energy System Strategy and the European Green Deal.

This event is part of the EU Sustainable Energy Week 2022.

Speakers

Hans Korteweg was appointed Managing Director of COGEN Europe in May 2017. More recently, he was also appointed Executive Director of COGEN World Coalition in 2021 (part-time). Hans has over 20 years of energy and environment policy experience, during which time he spearheaded the implementation of effective communications and lobbying strategies for high-growth organisations in Brussels, across Europe and internationally. He also has a decade of association management experience.

Hans, who lives in Belgium, is a French-born Dutch-American. He has a BA in international affairs and politics from Vesalius College – Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), Belgium. He is also an Advanced Management Programme graduate of the IE Business School in Madrid, Spain.

Before joining COGEN Europe, he was Director of Communications and Government Affairs, EMEA Region, for the Westinghouse Electric Company.

 

Federica Sabbati is Secretary General of the European Heating Industry (EHI www.ehi.eu), which brings together companies that are leaders in the production of efficient heating systems. EHI members cover 90% of the European market for all heating solutions from boilers to solar thermal systems, from heat pumps to fuel cells, from radiators to underfloor heating. For today’s changing energy landscape, EHI members have been innovating in hybrids, in green gases-ready and hydrogen heating appliances as well as in digital systems, to support an ever more integrated and renewables-based energy system. Since December 2020 Federica is the Facilitator of the Round Table ‘Buildings’ of the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance, a public-private partnership bringing together the hydrogen value chain in Europe at the initiative of the EU Commission, with the aim of supporting the ramp up of the hydrogen market in Europe. Federica is also the outgoing Chair of the European Net Zero Alliance (ENZA). She holds a university degree in International Relations from the University of Trieste (Gorizia base), Italy, and a master’s Degree in Russian and Post-Soviet Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

 

Ruud Kempener is acting Deputy Head of Unit of renewables and energy system integration policy of the Directorate-General for Energy at the European Commission. He coordinates the Commission’s strategies on hydrogen and energy system integration, and leads a team that works on EU hydrogen policies, renewables financing, and international cooperation activities on renewables.

 

 

Ian Amos, BSc, CEng IMechE, studied mechanical engineering at the University of Birmingham . He has 40 years of experience in the small gas turbine business since starting  work at Siemens Energy  in Lincoln, UK in 1982.  His career began in Advanced Engineering working on core engine design, principally in the fields of performance, aerothermal and air systems. Since 2004 Ian has been working in a business development/product strategy role with responsibility to ensure that the product portfolio remains competitive and  is kept up to date to tackle the challenges of a changing market place.

 

 

Nadine Walther has a degree in Business Administration. Prior to joining Bosch, she worked for several industrial companies, as well as in a bank, in the role of Product Manager. She has been working for Bosch Thermotechnik as International Product Manager for Hybrid Systems since June 2021.

 

 

 

Sorana IONESCU, Partnerships Managing Director at Cluster Power. Sorana oversees strategic partnerships to promote regional development through innovative, green projects.  She has worked in the field of European projects and public policies, with a focus on competition in the industry and energy markets. She also specialized in contracts for IT services, with regional expertise for EMEA. Sorana was recently appointed to the SmartCities of Romania Cluster Association board and represents ClusterPower in the industry associations.
